libgdbm3 software package provides GNU dbm database routines (runtime version), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgdbm3
libgdbm3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgdbm3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgdbm3 *
You will get with libgdbm3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
